TAKE TIME OUT WITH A CUP OF TEA [SELF CARE WEEK]
Initially believed to be used for medicinal purposes, tea has been around for centuries and has been embraced by many countries all around the world for its calming and restorative benefits.
Tea is one of the most popular drinks on earth, and besides water, is enjoyed on a daily basis by billions of people around the world.
So, why do so many people enjoy a cup of tea, I hear you ask?
Health benefits of tea
There are many health benefits believed to take effect on us when taking the time out to enjoy a cup of tea.
Here are four great reasons why you should take time out on a daily basis with a cup of tea to regroup and relax:
High in antioxidants
Black and white tea is full of antioxidants which has numerous health benefits including reducing the risk of a stroke, reduces the risk of blood pressure, strengthens your immune system and improves digestion. The antioxidants have been suggested to help protect the heart and blood vessels.
The 2% to 4% of the caffeine that is found in black teas can improve mental alertness, memory and information processing skills and also decreases fatigue.
Less caffeine than coffee
Unlike coffee, tea gives a slow and steady release of caffeine which offers a feeling of relaxed alertness and has a better effect on our bodies. You don’t get the jitters or anxiety that coffee often gives people.
Preparation is a process
The process of preparing a cup of tea is soothing. Making a cup of tea takes preparation and time. The pace to make a tea is slow, calm and tranquil and the beverage at the end should be soothing and nurturing
We’ve shared all the benefits, so now it’s a perfect time to prepare a hot, soothing cup of tea (we suggest Byron Bliss!) and enjoy all the benefits while you put up your feet and enjoy a little peace and quiet in your busy day.
Taking a little time out once or twice a day is a perfect way to refresh, re-stock and take some valuable time out to help boost your health and well being each and every day.
